Enter either shared cM or Shared Percentage of DNA (23&Me), not both. The percentage input is converted to cM by multiplying the entered percentage by 74.5. The % of average DNA column divides the chart average cM by 74.5 and rounds to the nearest 0.1%. The Difference from entered cM column compares the lookup cM value to the chart average for each possible relationship.

Reading the results
The lookup returns relationships where the entered or converted cM falls between the chart’s minimum and maximum range. Results are sorted from highest chart average cM to lowest chart average cM.
A cM match can fit more than one relationship. Use ages, known family lines, shared matches, chromosome data, trees, and documentary evidence to narrow the possibilities.
