Linda Debe is a lecturer, writer, and lifelong student with over 40 years of genealogy research experience.
She holds an AAS degree in Electronics Technology from the United States Air Force where she served for 11 years. She recently graduated from the ProGen 54 Study Group in May 2022.
She is enrolled in the International Institute for Genealogical Studies. She has attended several national genealogical conferences and institutions to further her education. Also, she is a member of several genealogy societies.
Linda is the current Program Chair for North Hills Genealogists, where she worked with a committee to plan and produce quality genealogical programs for the society. She will be leading their new Tech SIG starting in Jan 2025.
Since 2019, Linda has been lecturing on genealogy and technology-based topics to societies public libraries, conferences, and institutes. Referred to by friends as “The Sleepless Genealogist,” Linda now has a website by the same name where you can find a list of the lectures she offers.
In 2022, Linda published an article for the Kentucky Genealogical Society‘s Bluegrass Roots, titled “A Hunting We Will Go: Searching for a Family Grist Mill”.

2024 She was a speaker for the Inaugural Indigenous Symposium for the Georgia State Archives.
2024 Presented a 5-week course on Native American Records across the USA.
2024 Presented a WWI Records webinar for Utah Genealogical Association’s Summitt of Excellence Conference
2022 Presented at the RootsTech Conference (virtually) on Abstracts, Extracts, and Transcriptions.
2020, she assisted with the Virtual Genealogical Association (VGA) annual conference, handling the technical side of the Zoom meetings.
Being Microsoft Office certified in Access and Excel, she applies her training to creating automated spreadsheets to help with genealogy research. Her philosophy is to “Work Smarter, Not Harder”
She has a YouTube channel where she provides general “how-to” videos on genealogy technology. In addition, Linda offers a free, daily updated, Google calendar which organizes free and fee-based genealogical educational opportunities for genealogists of all levels.
